Knowing why you do something doesn't always change how it feels.
Alex believes therapy is about more than gaining insight. Understanding yourself is important, but lasting change happens when that understanding begins to reshape the way you relate to yourself, your emotions, and the people around you.
She works with people who spend so much of their lives caring for others that they've lost touch with themselves. Many of her clients are the ones everyone else depends on. They are therapists, caregivers, healthcare professionals, teachers, parents, and deeply empathetic people who carry a great deal for those around them while quietly struggling on their own.
Many arrive in therapy already highly self-aware. They know their attachment style. They've read the books, listened to the podcasts, and understand the language of boundaries, nervous systems, and trauma. Some even teach these concepts to others. Yet they still find themselves people pleasing, overfunctioning, experiencing high-functioning anxiety, or repeating relationship patterns they thought they had already worked through.
Alex's work is centered on helping clients move beyond insight alone. Together, you'll explore the experiences that shaped you, deepen your understanding of long-standing patterns, reconnect with emotions that may have been pushed aside, and develop a more compassionate, trusting relationship with yourself. The goal isn't perfection. It's feeling more fully connected to who you are.
Her approach is relational, intuitive, and engaged. She believes the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important parts of the work. She shows up as a real person in the room, bringing warmth, honesty, humor, curiosity, and thoughtful reflection. Therapy with Alex is conversational, collaborative, and grounded in genuine connection.
Alex is especially passionate about working with attachment wounds, people-pleasing, perfectionism, high-functioning anxiety, burnout, and relationship dynamics. She has experience supporting adults navigating identity exploration, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the unique challenges that can come with being the one others rely on.
As a queer-identifying therapist and new parent, Alex brings both lived experience and professional training into the room. She understands that caring deeply for others can sometimes make it difficult to care for yourself, and she strives to create a space where clients feel deeply understood without needing to perform or have everything figured out.
Originally from Tennessee, Alex now lives in Los Angeles with her partner, daughter, dog, and cat, who occasionally make surprise appearances during virtual sessions.
If you're tired of always being the one holding everything together, therapy can become the place where you no longer have to. Alex offers a free 30-minute consultation to explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
